Do I get my birth stone or school colors for my class ring?

I'm going to be ordering my class ring soon but I'm not sure on what kind of stone to get. My school colors are blue and silver, so i was thinking about the blue stone and silver band. However, my birthstone is apparently purple, so I was wondering weather people generally get their birth stone or school colors on their class ring? Thanks!!!

i was going to get my birthstone and i asked about it too. it just really depends on what you like better. my best friend got her birthstone. i got our school colors just because my birthstone is ugly. So do you like purple or blue? choose the color you like better.
