Ok so I want to have a recession proof job when I get older, I have not started college yet. I was thinking about getting into healthcare but I hate dealing with blood so I can't be a doctor or a nurse. I was thinking about being a pharmacist but I have a ged so I can't go to a university :/ my mom was saying that they have people type up prescriptions or something like that but I'm just wondering if u guys have any suggestions for me :).

Thanks in advance :)

What your mom is describing is called transcriptionist. These are decent jobs, but I don't see this as a long term stable job. More and more, I see computers taking over these task. In the future, I see doctors typing in a code and the data gets transferred automatically to a printer at office or department (to fulfill the order). In addition, a transcriptionist is not really considered a skill set. Basically, anyone can come in with minimal training and do the job. Therefore, this makes the position easily replaceable, obsolete or outsourced.

For a stable and recession proof job in the medical industry, you need to pick something that is in high demand and with specialized skill (or knowledge). I recommend you go to vocational school or community college to be an x-ray technician. This is also known as a radiographer. These basically require you to x-ray various parts of the body, and then pass the processed film on to radiologists who diagnose and treat health conditions.

Good luck
