Can someone please tell me the difference between a rough draft and a final draft? I have a rough draft due on Mon for a 1000 word argumentative essay for college. I'm just writing it as the final draft, because I don't know of any other way. Please give a detailed description. Thanks in advance!

rough drafts are a ‘Work in Progress’. The main goal is to get students actively writing their ideas down. Students need to understand that this is not a finished product. More time will be invested in this piece of writing in order to make it a publishable or final draft.

I've always written it just like a final. Typically, the teacher will make notes/suggestions on the rough draft and then you would revise it from there for the final. Plus, you may come up with more ideas after turning in the rough draft so you can add those in for the final.

A rough draft is usually the first draft of whatever you are writing. The final draft is the last revision before it goes to the editor or the publisher or the final look before it is printed for the purpose it was intended. When you write something (anything) you will want to re-write it to make it better. Getting it to that Final Draft. You edit your own work and then you have somebody else read it and edit it and then you re-write some more. Ultimately getting it to the FINAL DRAFT or FINAL SUBMISSION FINAL COPY. Good luck.

A rough draft is a fully written essay that has not been revised and edited. A final draft is a fully written revised and edited essay in the proper format.

well, the corrected draft would be like, "correct all the little errors, such as grammar, spelling, and perhaps suggestions you got from peer editing, which I assume you probably did." and final copy would be like "now that all your little mistakes are corrected, revise your essay as a whole piece, and see if you want to make slight twists and turns to the idea (eg. to make it more direct, or maybe you should add another piece of evidence) So, basically, rough draft is the little details, and final copy is to examine the piece as a whole, and make necessary adjustments.

Yeah, that's kinda what it is. The rough draft is what you think should be the final draft, until your teacher/professor/advisor rips it apart and tells you what to fix for the final draft.

Rough draft is usually the first one your write, mistakes and all. The final draft is the last one you write; the one you turn in for the grade.

I can only try to guess what he means. I think he wants to see your rough draft and the actual corrections to it, which would mean you do them manually. (A lot of writers do make manual corrections, so they can tell how they got from one version to the next.) Then your final would be the electronically corrected version.

The final draft is the beter one.
