Mr Jonathan Philip's e-mail address looks decidedly dodgy-"embassy.gov.uk" tries to give it an official look (many national & local government web sites are "gov.uk" ) but this clearly isn't one of them.

Did you apply to Vodafone for a job? If not why would they write to you? They have given you a mobile phone number to call, most companies give you a land line to call. They are not using an obvious vodafone e-mail address, in fact the .gov.uk address make this look extremely suspicious, they have nothing whatsoever to do with the UK Government. This has the hallmarks of a scam, be careful.

If you have recently applied for a job to Vodafone then call the number on the original job advert and be safe, otherwise walk away from this e-mail.

Perhaps an easeir way would be to call vodaphone direct at there offices on a landline, and make enquries in person. Even if it is not correct, at least you will be able to inform them that someone is impersonating one of there senior managers, and if it is correct (hopefully) it shows you use initiative and have the ability to question a limited amount information before you act upon it. You will be able to get the number from directory inq.

There offices are in Newbury.

Good Luck !
