IDEAS FOR A SCHOOL NEWSPAPER??? IMPORTANT to me! PLEASE HELP!!!?

Well, my school just started a students' newspaper, and its first issue came out just before the previous academic year closed... Now we need ideas for this year!!!!!!!!!!

The paper is to be fully written, edited and published by the students themselves (teachers help, of course.) All the articles are written by students.

Does anyone have ANY ideas???? It can be on the format, or motto, or articles, or ANYTHING!!! PLEASE HELP!!!

We'd like to report stuff about goings-on both inside the school and also the local areas, too!

Once again, let me repeat-- ANY GOOD IDEA IS WELCOME! Please, HELP ME OUT!!!!!

Well, you should have interesting stuff for the students. Like an advice column, polls (such as "What do you think of the new school year so far?"), letters to the editor (where the students can speak their mind about the past issue of the paper or suggest ideas), a day in the life of ______ (where people can look at photographs w/ captions describing a school day for a student), games such as crossword puzzles, contests and more. I think you will have a better time with the paper if you include things that the student body will find interesting and will want to get involved in. Take a look at the first issue that came out, was there anything wrong with it? Did anybody feel disappointed and thought it could be better if something was added in or taken out? Think about how you can improve the paper this year to make it even better than before.

Newspapers are always based on local events, find out whats going on in your community. Your town probably has a home page look it up on yahoo. Report on school events, fundraisers, fires in your area anything and everything.

Speak about peer pressure and what it can cause, Bring attention to the kids who go out of their way to help people. Talk about the environment and what we can do to help. Or how about helping each other. Make sure whatever you write is done in a positive manor since people tend to follow what they read or see.
