"The young are so optimistic?" Where did the facts for that statement come from? How young? Newborn? They don't even know what optimism is. 5, 6, 7 years old? Well, I guess they always think mom & dad will believe 'I didn't do it - really!' Then there's the teenage years on through High School when you hate your parents and think the world is against you.

I believe that optomism is acquired with age, when you can truly appreciate life.

The halcyon days of your youth are only awarded retroactivly!

The something funny could be a bit of sarcasm: 'The young are so optomistic?' Says who?

The young are so optimistic, no real worries, the young only have to worry about waking, dress, eating and playing. But as life goes on optimistic becomes reality, worried about work, car payments, insurance and much, much more.

Ask any adult and they would say "The young are so optimistic." And, rightly so! How many of us got up this morning, opened a drawer, aha, clean clothes. You head for the kitchen, ok, cereal for breakfast and lunch money. What magic!

"Children are so naive when it comes to practicality. If they only knew what paying mortgages, dealing with psychotic exes, and waiting sometimes 20 minutes just to get a latte were like.... I'm sure they would change their view on on the oh-so-perfect world."

When we are babies we are wrapped in diapers, drink all our food from a bottle and wake up each day happy to be alive, when we are old we are once again wrapped in diapers, drink all our food from a bottle and wake up each day happy to still be alive.
