Which do I use in this sentence: aid vs aide?

I sincerely hope that this tool
will aid in your journey.

Would that be correct? Aid is to help whereas aide is a helper? I'm unsure.

This is to go on a little gift note card for a pen that I've purchased from Tiffany's for my boyfriend as a graduation gift.
