What site could offer the best free learning tool for foreign languages?

Question

I want to study the French and Spanish languages. I started out by studying Latin online (a friend of mine told me that if I want to study European languages, I should study Latin first.) After the twelve sessions on Latin, I will study Spanish then move to French.
But, I do not have the material to work with yet. Can you give me some sites that give free, but good, Spanish and French lessons?
Also, can you give me some pieces of advice about studying foreign languages? Thanks...

One of the easiest ways to accelerate your vocabulary is to make little cards in French and Spanish for common items in your home. Tape the tags to the item.



Make Spanish tags 'rojo' and French tags 'Bleu'. It may look funny, but tag your lamps, tables, a window, door, bathroom, bedroom, dresser with the Spanish and French word for each item to learn its name everyday. In your car have a list of verbs phrases to learn while you drive that relate to work, shopping or traveling. When you actually "do" the verb it becomes a natural thing to think of the Spanish and French verb phrases such as "conduisez une voiture" , drive the car' or 'conduzca un coche'. Notice the similarity of conduzca and conduisez. It is fun!



Another fun hint is to watch multi-lingual DVDs in English but subtitled in French or Spanish. I watched "Monk" with French subtitles and I learned many new words. You can also watch French or Spanish movies with English subtitles. That is also entertaining.
